Former governor will visit Saturday.

Friday, August 12th, 2011
Arlin Dease, owner and proprietor of Hemingbough and the newly formed Democratic women’s club (The Dem Dames of the Felicianas) announces, with great pleasure, former Governor and Mrs. Edwin W. Edwards will be honoring them at a reception and book signing at Hemingbough in St. Francisville. The signing will be held from 6 until 8 in the evening on Saturday, August 13th. Friends of the Governor are invited to attend. This will be the only occasion, in the foreseeable future, where friends and admirers, from the Felicianas, can visit with our former governor and tender good wishes, celebrating his 84th birthday (which will occur this coming Sunday, August 7th) and also his recent marriage to Ms. Trina Grimes Scott of Gonzales. Leo Honeycutt’s biography, of the former governor, has been a runaway success. A special commemorative edition will be sold at this event. The Governor and Honeycutt will be available to autograph and personalize copies. However, persons who already have purchased the acclaimed biography may only bring one copy per person, for the Governor to personalize, as the crowd is expected to be sizeable. For the collectors, there will be autographed, but not personalized, copies available for sale. Governor Edwards has many supporters among residents of the Feliciana Parishes. All are warmly invited to attend. There will be no admission charged at the particular request of the honorees, states Arlin Dease, Hemingbough’s owner and proprietor.
